Tyler, Texas (April 24, 2018) – As part of its ongoing support of area youth, Heritage Land Bank is pleased to announce the winners of its 2018 scholarship program for graduating high school seniors. Each of the four students selected will receive $2,500 towards their 2018-2019 freshman year at their chosen college or university.

Selection of the four qualifying scholarship winners was based on merit, including scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, and leadership qualities. Each student also submitted a written essay and personal video on how they would use the scholarship to advance their post-secondary education.

“The kids of today are the leaders of tomorrow. We at Heritage Land Bank, feel it is our social obligation to help these students, because they will be those who shape our future,” said CEO Bill Tandy. “At Heritage, we take a particular interest in kids that are exceptionally bright, and very focused on what they want, but in some cases, have a financial pathway that may need a little assistance. That’s who we are and that’s what we do!”
